9 days away from Election day 2020. The election that some call the most important one of them all. The crossroads of America.

In less than a month, what some call the most crucial election of all times will finally take place. One party will inevitably win and the other will lose. The outcome will be the new direction that America will take.

On one side we have our current President, Donald J. Trump. In the last four years he has accomplished numerous things on his political agenda. He has managed to “wind down” the DACA program that allowed immigrants brought to this country when they were children to apply for a legal work permit in the United States. President Trump has removed nearly 300,000 immigrants from U.S. soil through numerous ICE raids throughout the country. He built a wall along the southern border and he has eliminated the visa lottery program. He has removed many of President Obama’s rules to help manage climate change. For example the Methane emission rule that was meant to help reduce the methane pollution which are huge contributors to climate change. His argument: it was too costly.

On his campaign website “President Trump: Fighting for you!” is the new list of tasks on his political agenda. If the voters elect Trump for a second term he plans on attempting to create 10 million jobs in 10 months(yes, 10 million), “return to normal in 2021”, “end [the U.S’] reliance on China”, “provide world-class healthcare”, continue funding the police, end sanctuary cities and block tax paying immigrants from receiving taxpayers welfare.

And another important thing for voters to note, there was no environmental section on his political agenda for the upcoming term. It seems to be that Trump completely disregarded the existential threat that is global warming and climate change.

In addition, it is no shock that schools need more money and is a prominent issue among the school districts around the US. But on President Trump’s website there are only two things he hopes to achieve in regards to education, give students the right to choose what school they go to and make all schools teach “American Exceptionalism”. Neither of which are providing greater funding for American schools.

Another important thing to note, for one, is the difficulty to find Trump’s political agenda on his official website and two, the lack of detail in his agenda making his propositions for the upcoming term far fetched. Yes, eliminating COVID and returning to normal in 2021 seems like the ideal situation but considering our current status, eliminating COVID just seems unreal.

On the other side there is former Vice President of the United States(under the Obama administration), Joe Biden and Senator Kamala Harris, who if elected will become the first ever African American woman Vice President. At first glance the Biden-Harris website differs so much from the one of President Trump. The inclusivity in the issues that he hopes to address if the turn out of this election is in his favor is incredibly vast.

Biden hopes to address anything from the relations with natives in our lands to racial equity to LGBTQ+ rights to housing to climate change to environmental justice to even criminal justice reform. He has agendas for every community imaginable. Inclusivity that can’t be seen on the Trump website. Yeah. Shocker. Having a “español” section doesn’t make a website diverse. Just like having a wife and daughter doesn’t make a man decent.

Biden-Haris hopes to achieve great things for this country in the upcoming terms. Some of which entail NOT RAISING TAXES FOR THE WORKING CLASS. Interesting how republicans have flipped the story with the common misconception that Biden will raise taxes for ALL as President. But according to his proposed agenda, he’s only going to raise taxes for the top 1%. He won’t raise taxes for anyone making under 400K a year which will inevitably benefit the working class. It’s also important to note the common trend within his website. He is fighting for the working class. And I can assure you that he won’t pass a bill to benefit only the wealthy, not like President Trump has.

In addition, it’s important to add that all 51 plans have incredibly detailed plans with complete explanations of how they will accomplish it in the upcoming term. The importance? To inform the voter of their policies and to make their political agenda as transparent as possible so they can make the vote as accurately as possible.

If you as a voter care about having a tolerant diverse country, the climate, science, fixing racial inequality, encouraging racial equity, choosing to assist the working class, the future of healthcare, veterans, military families, education, and a justice system reform, just to name a few, you should be voting blue. But, if you care about dividing this country, the top 1%, lack of diversity, ignoring science, cutting connections with China, removing immigrants and taking their opportunities at a better life, then vote red. This choice is one you have to make, one of the most important ones you’ll ever have to make. This choice will affect the trajectory of our country for the next four years, so if you can vote, take this information, make a choice, and send in your ballot.
